Harassment contact persons
JASTO condemns all forms of harassment, bullying and discrimination, and therefore we have designated harassment contact persons on our board:
At JASTO, we have four harassment contact persons. The main role of the harassment contact person in a student organization is to ensure that everyone can study equally, safely, and freely. The harassment contact person is a trained support person whom you can turn to if you feel harassed during your studies or at organized events. Examples of harassment include:
• Physical or mental bullying
• Physical or psychological harassment
• Physical or psychological harassment
• Miscommunication or harassment Physical or psychological harassment
• Conduct that continues despite the other person’s request.
• Any other activity that the person finds unpleasant and offensive.
JASTO’s harassment contact persons can be contacted by email, by grabbing a sleeve in the lunch queue, or by sending a private message on social media. Our job is to help every student, regardless of their background – and we’re happy to do it! You can contact the harassment contact person even if you are not the target of harassment, but have witnessed, for example, a bullying incident.
With the help of a harassment contact person, we aim to lower the threshold for contacting in cases of harassment and to enable a safe and meaningful academic year for all. However, harassment contact persons are not public officials and are bound by confidentiality.
Harassment contact persons do not take any further action without the consent of the person concerned.
You can contact all harassment contact persons by sending an email to
hairintayhdyshenkilo@jasto.net or contact an individual harassment contact person via the personal email addresses below.
You can also contact anonymously through this form -> https://forms.gle/dC8nSY7YxpC1S9ca9

JASTO
What is JASTO?
JASTO (Jyväskylän Ammattikorkeakoulu sosiaali- ja terveysalan opiskelijat ry) is a study field organization of the Jyväskylän University of Applied Sciences students in the field of social and health care.
How does JASTO differ from JAMKO?
JASTO is a study field organization for students of social and health care, while JAMKO is the student union of the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences. JASTO is open to students of social and health care, JAMKO is open to all students of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences.
I have a JAMKO student card, do I belong to JASTO?
You’re not. You need to join JASTO separately. You can be a member of JASTO, a member of JAMKO, a member of both, or not a member of either.
I belong to JASTO, do I also have a student card?
Not unless you have joined JAMKO. Membership of JASTO alone is not sufficient proof of student status.
Who can join JASTO?
A full-time student of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences in the field of social and health care can become a member of JASTO.
How can I join JASTO?
You can become a JASTO member by purchasing a JASTO membership on the Kide.App.
What is the JASTO Board and who are its members?
The JASTO board is the JASTO body elected annually at the autumn meeting. The Board manages the activities of the association, is responsible for the use of the association’s funds, maintains the membership register, and organizes events and activities for JASTO members. The current list of the JASTO Board of Directors can be found on the website
I am interested in becoming a board member, how can I join?
You can join the board as a full member or a deputy member. The JASTO Board sometimes seeks deputy members, and as a deputy member, you have a good opportunity to get to know JASTO without the same obligations as a full member. A new board is elected each year at the association’s autumn meeting at the end of the year. So come along to the meeting and express your interest in joining the board.
Name tags
Where can I buy a name tag?
You can order a name tag through JASTO during the orientation week on the kide.app.
I missed the deadline to order a name pin, can I still get a name pin?
Name tags are ordered twice a year, in August-September and January. If you didn’t have time to order your name pins during orientation week, you can order them during the next orientation week. You can also have a pin made by yourself, for example by a shoemaker.
I ordered a name tag several weeks ago, why haven’t I received it?
We order the name tags from another party, so we have no control over the engraving speed of the name tags. We also try to arrange the pick-up times for overalls and name tags so that both can be picked up at the same time. Since overalls usually take longer than nametags, you may have to wait a while for nametags.
Where can I get my name tag?
You can pick up your nametag at the time of overalls pick-up, at JASTO stands, or during office hours. If you cannot pick up your nametag at the times indicated, please contact JASTO and we can arrange a separate pick-up time.
Overalls
Where can I buy overalls?
You can order overalls during orientation week via the kide.app.
How do I know which size is right for me?
It is possible to try on overalls during the orientation week at the times indicated.
I missed the deadline for ordering overalls, can I still order overalls?
Overalls are ordered twice a year, in autumn and in January. If you missed the opportunity to order overalls during your orientation week, you can order them during the next orientation week (August-September or January).
I ordered my overalls several weeks ago, why have I not received my overalls?
Orders for overalls go through JAMKO, which organizes the orders of all JAMK’s study field organizations into one large order. We do not order overalls directly from the manufacturer but participate in a group order with other study field organizations. So your overalls come as part of a large order, which takes time to produce.
Where can I get my overalls?
Overalls distribution days are organized after the overalls arrive, when you can pick up your overalls on campus. Pick-up dates will be announced on social media. You can also pick up your overalls on office days.
The overalls I ordered are too big/too small, can I return them?
If the size of the overalls is the same as the size you indicated on the form, we will not accept the return of the overalls.
My overalls have the wrong field of study on them, can I get my money back?
If the field of study matches the field of study you indicated on the order form, we will not refund your money, as we have ordered the overalls according to the orders placed through kide.app.
I bought overalls but I haven’t used them, can I return them and get my money back?
Overalls are non-returnable. However, you can try to sell them to another student.
Why are overalls non-returnable?
Overalls are ordered on a made-to-measure basis, i.e. a certain number of sizes are ordered for certain sectors (nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, etc.). Due to lack of space, JASTO is unable to maintain a stock of overalls, and only the amount of overalls ordered is ordered each time.
Events
I bought a ticket to the JASTO event, but I can’t get there. Can I get my money back?
Unfortunately, we do not accept ticket returns or give refunds. However, you can sell your ticket to someone else (Jodel, classmate…) Please note that, for example, at a sits, food is ordered according to the person who originally bought the ticket.
I didn’t have time to buy a ticket for the JASTO event as it was sold out. Can I still get a ticket somewhere?
Unfortunately, we do not have extra tickets for sold-out events. You can try to buy ticket for example Jodel.
Who organizes JASTO events?
The events are organized by the JASTO Board. If you have any event requests, you can send them to us by email: tapahtumat@jasto.net or on the JASTO social media pages.
